Cecilia Ruiz

Cecilia graduated with a first class BSc Honours degree in Biochemistry with Forensic Science from Queen Mary University of London in 2007 and was subsequently awarded the Drapers Westfield Prize, for outstanding achievement. In her final year research dissertation, she concentrated on developing a stable and efficient reagent for the detection of residual proteins on re-useable surgical and dental equipment at the William Harvey Research Institute, Barts & The London School of Medicine & Dentistry.
Besides English, she is a native Spanish speaker and has a working knowledge of French. Cecilia was awarded one of three Herchel Smith Scholarships, for students pursuing a career in Intellectual Property, provided by Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute and Emmanuel College Cambridge University. During her MSc she participated in the 9th Congress for the European Intellectual Property Institutes Network (EIPIN), which involved attending three conferences in Switzerland, France and the UK dealing with the current issues of IP Enforcement. She was awarded the EIPIN Diplome D’Honneur.
Cecilia has successfully completed the MSc in Management of Intellectual Property at Queen Mary College, University of London, in 2008.
Cecilia is working as a Technical Assistant and joined the biotechnology group at Kilburn & Strode in November 2008.
