Richard Gunn
Assistant
Richard graduated from the University of Leeds in 2005 with a first class MChem degree in Chemistry. He spent an exchange year at McGill University in Montréal, before returning to Leeds to complete a final-year research project developing concise organocatalytic and biocatalytic routes to sialic acid mimetics.
Richard obtained an MRes in Protein and Membrane Chemical Biology in 2006 and a PhD in 2010 from Imperial College London. His research involved the synthesis and biological evaluation of small molecule modulators of the PI3-K-Akt-mTOR cell signalling pathway. During his PhD he undertook placements at the Max-Planck-Institut für molekulare Physiologie in Dortmund and as an Advisor at the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology.
Richard joined the chemistry team at Kilburn & Strode LLP in September 2010 as a technical assistant and is training to become a patent attorney.
