Nick Wright
Assistant
Nick graduated from the University of Surrey in 2006 with a first class Beng degree in electronic engineering. Nick continued his studies at the University of Surrey and was awarded a PhD in silicon photonics in 2009. His research involved modifying the free carrier lifetime in silicon waveguides, via ion implantation, to help realise efficient silicon optical amplifiers around the 1.55 micron communication band. In October 2009 Nick was awarded a one year postdoctoral scholarship from the University of Surrey, in collaboration with Intel photonics group based in Santa Clara USA, to develop his research. Nick joined Kilburn and Strode in autumn 2010 as a technical assistant and is training to become a patent attorney within the IT, Electronics and Physics group.
