Carrollanne qualified as a barrister, then a Trade Mark Agent, following an original degree in law from King's College London. Having been called as a barrister, Carrollanne spent a year in pupillage with a Queen's Counsel specialising in intellectual property. She moved then into industry, first in-house at Rothmans International working on both luxury goods and tobacco products, and later on to "The Body Shop". She then moved into private practice , and describes this transition as "poacher turned gamekeeper". She joined Kilburn & Strode in 2000 and became a partner in 2002. She now heads the firm's prominent Trade Marks Group.
Carrollanne is experienced in all aspects of trade mark prosecution and enforcement both in the UK and abroad. Her experience in-house makes her particularly aware of the commercial and practical needs of her clients. She has given lectures and presentations at various professional seminars and at the Institute of Directors, and appeared on Television and radio discussing IP issues. She is a member of INTA for which she has chaired a committee and she now serves on the leadership development committee. Carrollanne is also listed in two guides. Her entries appear in "Trade Mark Law Practitioners" and the "Leading Women in Business Law". She was also shortlisted in Euromoney Legal Media Group European Women in Business Law Awards in the 'Best in Trademark' category. Carrollanne has also been been recognised in The Legal 500, 2011 edition as ‘a real star, with a knack for being very flexible.’
Carrollanne is a member of the American Bar Association.
