Jane obtained a Biology degree in 2000 from the University of Bristol followed by a PhD in Molecular Biology from UCL in 2003. Jane completed the MSc in Management of Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary, University of London in 2004 and was awarded the GlaxoSmithKline prize for excellence in patent law. She joined Kilburn & Strode in November 2004 and qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney in 2008. Jane works in a wide-ranging area of biotechnology including genetics, recombinant proteins, stem cells, immunology, plant physiology and pest control. In terms of patent practice, Jane is involved in the drafting and worldwide prosecution of patent applications for a variety of clients from universities to multi-national companies. Jane also represents clients before the Examining and Opposition Divisions at the EPO. She is experienced in providing freedom-to-operate, patentability and validity opinions.
