Jane obtained a BSc Joint Honours degree in Biology and Geography in 2000 from the University of Bristol followed by a PhD in Molecular Biology from University College London in 2003. Jane presented the results obtained during her PhD at a number of national conferences and at an international conference in Christchurch, New Zealand. Following her PhD research Jane completed the MSc in Management of Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary College, University of London in 2004. Jane joined Kilburn & Strode in November 2004 and qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney in 2008. Jane works in wide-ranging areas of biotechnology including genetics, recombinant proteins, stem cells, immunology, plant physiology and pest control. Jane has experience in the drafting and worldwide prosecution of patent applications and she has also been involved with a number of freedom to operate projects. Jane has also represented clients before the Examining Division and the Opposition Division at the EPO.
