Jennifer Harris
Associate
Jennifer has a BSc double honours degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Southampton. Her degree included two research theses; a first on the synthesis of a fluorescently labelled monomer for incorporation into oligonucleotides and the second on the development of a linker for use in solid phase peptide synthesis. During her degree, Jennifer gained experience working in industry, in the areas of medicinal and combinatorial chemistry.
In 2006, Jennifer joined Kilburn & Strode, following entering the patent profession in 2001 and qualifying as both a UK and European Patent Attorney in 2005.
Jennifer's practice focusses on the drafting and prosecution of patent applications before the EPO, UKIPO and worldwide. She also represents clients in hearings at the EPO in pre-grant, opposition and appeal proceedings and has significant experience of providing infringment and validity opinions. She works closely with clients ranging from start-ups and technology transfer offices to multinational companies, to identifiy inventions and to assess, develop and manage patent strategies.
In terms of technology, Jennifer specializes in chemistry. She has knowledge of a broad range of technologies within this field, with particular experience in the areas of pharmaceuticals, polymorphs, drug delivery formulations, polymers, synthetic methods, industrial processes, microfluidics and glass, ceramic and composite materials.
