Jennifer Harris

Jennifer studied Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Southampton. She entered the patent profession in 2001, qualifying as both a UK and European Patent Attorney in 2005 and becoming a partner at Kilburn & Strode in 2011.
She works closely with clients ranging from SMEs and technology transfer offices to multinational pharmaceutical companies. Jennifer's practice focuses on drafting and prosecution of patent applications before the EPO and UKIPO, identifying and assessing inventions, advising on, developing and managing worldwide patent filing strategies and representing clients in hearings at the EPO in pre-grant, opposition and appeal proceedings. She also has significant experience of advising on infringement and validity issues and has been involved in several large due diligence projects. She has a particular interest in working with start-up companies to assist in the identification of inventions and the development and management of patent strategies to maximise the value of their IP.
In terms of technology, Jennifer specializes in chemistry. She has knowledge of a broad range of technologies within this field, with particular experience in the areas of pharmaceuticals, polymorphs, drug delivery formulations, polymers, synthetic methods, industrial processes and glass, ceramic and composite materials.
Jennifer is currently a committee member of the Law Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
