Kathryn Formanuik
Assistant
Kathryn graduated from the University of Bath in 2008 with a first class Masters degree in Chemistry. During her industrial placement year, Kathryn worked at a private petrochemical company, helping to develop and test cold flow additives for diesel fuel. Her research involved synthesising various polymerisation catalysts and using a number of controlled and living polymerisation techniques such as ATRP, CCTP and RAFT. Kathryn further developed these skills during her final year as her dissertation involved grafting polymers to the surface of iron oxide nanoparticles, and attaching various catalysts to these materials.
Kathryn specialises in pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, inorganic materials chemistry including catalysts and fuel cells, and polymer chemistry, particularly petrochemicals, glycopeptides and controlled/living polymers.
Kathryn joined Kilburn & Strode in November 2008 and successfully completed the Certificate in Intellectual Property at Queen Mary College, University of London in January 2010.
