Emer Bollinghaus

Emer graduated with a first class BA Honours degree in Natural Sciences (Physics) from New Hall, Cambridge in 2004. She joined Kilburn and Strode in November 2004. Emer obtained the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary College, University of London, in 2006 and was awarded the GlaxoSmithKline prize and the Bill Caro prize for achievement in the Certificate Examinations. She qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2008 and as a UK Patent Attorney in 2009.
Emer’s patent practice includes drafting new applications, filing and prosecuting patent applications, as well as representing clients at oral proceedings before both the Examining Division and the Opposition Division at the European Patent Office. She also has experience in providing UK patent infringement and validity opinions.
From a technical perspective, Emer handles a wide range of subject matter including mechanical devices, product design, control systems, network solutions, electronics and optical physics. She has particular experience in working with direct clients, advising on and coordinating their patent portfolios worldwide.
Emer is a member of the CIPA Education Committee. She is also a lecturer on CIPA’s Patent Administrators Course.
