Jenny Barrett
Associate
Jenny obtained a MEng in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University and joined Kilburn & Strode as a trainee Patent Attorney in 2004. She qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2008 and as a UK Patent Attorney in 2009, and is experienced in patent prosecution at the European Patent Office and UK Intellectual Property Office. Jenny also handles EU Registered Designs. In line with Jenny's background in Chemical Engineering, she works primarily with patent applicants in the chemical industry field, including oil & gas exploration and processing. She also deals with a diverse range of other technologies ranging from novel foodstuffs to mechanical devices, and she has interests in environmental science and metrology. Her current direct clients include multinational companies, university 'tech transfer' groups and individual inventors.
Jenny is experienced in obtaining patent protection in a very wide range of jurisdictions around the world, including patent granting offices throughout Africa and the Middle East, as well as the more well-known jurisdictions of China, India, Japan, Australia and the USA. She also has experience of Patent Oppositions at the EPO and has advised in connection with contentious matters in the UK.
