IT, Electronics & Physics Teams

Kilburn & Strode has one of the highest reputations in the country for our handling of information technology inventions, including software, computer science and telecommunications. Our team of professionals (see links to profiles below) deals with a large and diverse range of academic, commercial and industrial clients who specialise in these areas. We act directly for a wide variety of universities, university spin-out companies, start-ups, SME's and large multi-nationals, both in Europe and further afield. Because of the nature of the IT business, a client's intellectual property needs have to evolve with changes in the sector and their position within that sector. We are very conscious of this and aim to tailor our advice to address the prevailing circumstances.

Information Technology
Our clients' interests in computer science and IT include, amongst other things, computer architecture, secure systems, communications networks including local and wide-area networks, computer peripherals, and telecommunications and broadcast technologies. In the software field, our clients' interests include business process inventions, neural networks, data processing, image processing, data compression, encryption/decryption, use and management of the Internet, communications protocols, operating systems and object-orientated programming techniques.

Electronics
The team has significant experience and expertise in both digital and analogue electronics. Areas of specific expertise include telecommunication systems, control and power electronics, and device fabrication.

Physics
We handle a wide variety of physics-related technologies including optics, medical physics, imaging, superconductors, laser physics and quantum devices.

Cross-disciplinary
Cross-disciplinary knowledge is becoming increasingly important, particularly in rapidly expanding fields such as bioinformatics and in silico biotechnology, and members of the team have considerable experience in working with clients who have interests in these areas. Typically we work in small interdisciplinary teams designed to meet the needs of a particular client; normally this will include an IT group specialist, together with one or more of our life sciences colleagues.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of our capabilities. To get more of an idea of our individual strengths, please take a look at the backgrounds of the group members through the links below:
