New EPO President 01/07/2010 Benoit Battistelli today took over as EPO president from Alison Brimelow who had held the office since July 2007. In his first statement he has emphasised the need to improve cooperation with the EPO member states and to strengthen international cooperation to reduce duplication of work. The Organisation will also continue to look at projects to introduce a European Union patent and the development of a European patent litigation system.
