Nanotechnology is a broad term used to describe innovations across a wide range of technical disciplines which share a common property of relating to things on a very small scale.
From the perspective of chemistry and biotechnology, approaches using nanotechnology offer great advantages as compositions of matter at the nano scale often behave quite differently to larger scale versions. Reaction times of compounds are often faster and other activities such as anti-bacterial properties are manifested at the level of nanoparticles.
Nanotechnology is also far more than just making small particles. It also extends to the fabrication of membranes of polymers or biomaterials at the nanoscale with advantageous material properties.
Our multidisciplinary team is experienced in advising on innovations in a range of technology areas, some of which are listed below as examples, and we can offer assistance to others looking at how best to deal with emerging technology.
